Presides over all meetings of the HOD, Serves as Parliamentarian at BOT meetings. Solicit modification, Clarification, and changes to Procedures, Policies, and Bylaws throughout the year.
The committee will review component bylaws, policies, and procedures to verify that they are not in conflict with ADHA. Members will have an understanding of Robert’s Rules of Order and attend quarterly board of trustee meetings, strategic planning meetings, and MDHA house of delegates meeting

As Chair, you will lead the advocacy committee in evaluating the state and local policies that directly impact the practice of dental hygienists in Maryland and make recommendations to the Board of Trustees for consideration on the legislative policy, position statements, and partnerships that will advance the profession. You will then work with the board of trustees to implement approved action and report regularly to the board.
Legislative Committee
The purpose of the committee is to protect and further the interests of the dental hygiene profession. It is important to have awareness of all legislation both nationally and statewide that affects the practice of dental hygiene. The Legislative Committee is the link between the MDHA lobbyist and the MDHA Board of Trustees. An important part of this committee is the dedication of these members to study and research legislative needs for hygienists in Maryland, facilitate legislative activism by dental hygienists in Maryland, investigate opportunities to attend events, write for publications and attend and monitor the Maryland Board of Dentistry Meetings.
Committee Chair: OPEN As chair, you are responsible for leading the committee in health promotion and educational activities throughout the state
The purpose of this committee is to establish mechanisms and programs on a state-wide network through component volunteers, affiliations, and coalitions, advocating for initial patient screenings, health promotion, and education programs for the citizens of Maryland. The committee members are to encourage component members(s) to establish local contact with groups, coalitions, extended care facilities, or schools to develop workshop and education programs to promote
dental hygiene education; establish a volunteer program for hygienists to participate in, patient-screenings, oral health promotion, and education, attend coalition partner meetings
representing MDHA and providing support.

As chair are responsible for leading the membership committee in membership recruitment and retention efforts, and you will report regularly to the board.
Membership and Communications Committee: This committee's goal is to engage current members, recruit potential members, and educate students on the value of membership after graduation. This is done by organizing the membership committee to visit schools and speak about membership to discuss the benefits of membership and transition
from student membership. Members of this committee also attend component meetings to discuss membership benefits and engage hygienists.
Student members do participate in the MDHA meetings including Annual Session. They also assist with the student delegate during Annual Session.
Amanda Ridgely: The liaison works to solicit donations, expand and reinforce name recognition of the Institute, and to recognize donors for their contributions.
The mission of the ADHA Institute for Oral Health is to support the charitable, educational, research and scientific endeavors of the ADHA which will improve the public’s total health by increasing the awareness of and access to quality oral healthcare.

Dental Hygiene Wellbeing committee is a confidential service to provide well-being assistance to any licensed dental hygienist, dental radiation technologist (rad tech), or dental assistant in the state of Maryland who is dealing with physical, mental, or substance abuse difficulty.

Leadership and Development Committee: The committee leads opportunities and workshops for active dental hygiene members for engagement and encouragement of growth that include leadership opportunities within MDHA and their communities.

MYPAC is a volunteer, self-funded association of Maryland Dental Hygienists that is not affiliated with any political party. MYPAC as its own committee operates separately from the MDHA.
Purpose: To proved those interested in the government regulation of dental hygiene with an opportunity to support candidates for public office who they believe will support the enhancement of the field of dental hygiene. It is also the objective of MYPAC to engage the participation of dental hygienists interested in the welfare and advancement of the profession by enhancing their understanding of local government and the effect elected officials have on the process.
MYPAC Committee: Members will be appointed for a term of two years. Two consecutive terms are permissible. Nominees must be active members of MDHA in good standing.

This committee is responsible for the image of MDHA to be accurately presented to anyone who may view the website. Also, update the website with relevant information as necessary and make sure Information is accurate and correct, monitor the website on a regular basis to make sure links are working and functioning properly, and train one person from each Component on how to use the IDHA website google calendar to post CE events, place articles, photos, Hygiene Herald, and other information on the website.
